Loan Officer - NMLS #1128818
My name is Taylor Ricks and I have been a licensed loan officer since August 2014 and have been working in the mortgage industry since 2012. Before joining Low VA Rates, I worked as a loan officer assistant at a couple different mortgage companies where I learned the ins and outs of the mortgage process and requirements. With the education courses and tests required to become licensed, I continued to learn and have had the privilege of helping hundreds of veterans improve their mortgage situation and save money. I strives to provide good advice and find solutions for everyone I work with. All my experience in the industry has been specifically with veterans and VA loans.
I come from a military family. My grandfather served during the Korean War, my great uncle stormed the beaches of Normandy in World War II, and my great-grandfather served during World War I. He also has several cousins and close friends currently serving in the Army and National Guard. This family tradition has taught me to respect the service and sacrifice of the men and women of the armed forces. I enjoy getting to know veterans every day and hearing the many experiences they have to share. Helping them save money and understand their mortgage options is a way I try to give back.
I was born in Gold Beach, Oregon but spent most of my childhood in the small town of Fairview, Utah where my parents still live today. My first job at the age of 11 was as a farm hand where I moved irrigation sprinkler pipes every morning and evening, branded new calves, and hauled hay. I learned how to work hard and finish the job. At the age of 19 I had the opportunity to move to Mexico City for two years where I served as a volunteer missionary for his church. Although I grew to love the people and culture of Mexico, I was reminded just how lucky I am to live in the United States. I later graduated from Brigham Young University with a degree in Communications and Public Relations. I married my high school sweetheart in 2013 and we currently live in Orem, Utah. In my free time, I enjoy playing basketball, volleyball, and softball with my wife and family. I also enjoy hiking, camping, and skiing. My wife keeps him active and one of my life goals is to someday be as athletic as she is.
