Can I Have Late Payments on my VA Mortgage Loan?
Generally speaking the answer to this question is not in the past 12 months. Each you have a 30-day 60-day or 90-day late mortgage payment reported to the credit bureaus it must be outside of the last 12 months for you to get a VA home loan. Late payments on your credit cards, auto loans and other obligations though not ideal, do not carry as much weight in the eyes of the lender as a late payment on your mortgage or your home.
If you are applying for a VA streamline refinance, then it is still possible if you have one 30-day late mortgage payment in the last 12 months, that you could still qualify for the streamline refinance.
