Am I eligible for a VA Loan?

One of the easiest ways to determine your eligibility for a VA home loan is to contact approved VA loan officer who will be able to complete the forms necessary to determine whether or not you are eligible.  The Department of Veterans Affairs have a form called request for certificate of eligibility or the VA form 26-1880.

Prior to September 8th, 1980, you need to have served 90 days or more during wartime or 181 continuous days or more during peacetime.  After Septemeber 8th, 1980, you must have served at least 24 months service or the full period ordered to active duty, not less than 90 days during wartime, or 181 days during peacetime.

Veterans honorably discharged and unmarried surviving spouses as well as service related disability are also eligible
